share a song

I heard a song today that really hit me. I wanted to send it to my husband on his phone. I did not know how to do it. My son said it is possible but he did not have time to help me figure it out just then. After we found the song on Playlist.com I searched through the FAQs to see if it was possible. Not only is it possible, it’s easy! Just find the song. Under the title is a “share” button. Push it and it says you can email it to a friend.

santeria

My son was letting me listen to one of his favorite songs. It begins with “I don’t practice santeria…”. I had no idea what that meant. So I looked it up.

Santeria is a form of religious worship which combines Yoruba with Roman Catholic and Native American traditions. It became prevalent in the Caribbean countries when slaves were brought over from Africa and were commanded to give up their religion. It is now practiced in Cuba and the United States as well.

commensalism

In helping my daughter study for her upcoming science test, I learned about “commensalism “. When hearing the questions, I knew what parsitism and mutualism were, but had not heard of commensalism. This is the relationship between two organisms where one is benefitted and the other is not harmed.

cell phone calendar

I learned today that my cell phone calendar not only lists the days of the month, but also lists the weeks of the year. I was trying to count up what week we were on not too long ago! Now I know where to look to find out more quickly!

extra

Working as an extra in a commercial shoot I learned a lot this week. I learned how long it takes to shoot just one scene. The shots are taken from many different angles, different distances, and using different lenses. And then of course there are loss of power, blown fuses, monkey problems (yes, there was a chimp in this shoot!), etc! I was happy that I had already learned a few things just from watching my family perform community theater. It was lots of fun and interesting to watch what all it takes to put together such a video.
