Each New Day

I was completely disappointed by the basketball banquet. I had paid $10 to spend time at a place I did not want to be. My only consolation was having dinner with my son.

Instead, the coaches said the players “had” to sit over to the side by themselves….”together as a team.” So, there I sat. A couple of ladies came over to sit with me while we ate. But the only reason I had gone at all was to be with my son.

Some date!

I’ve got a date tonight. With my son. It is the spring basketball banquet to celebrate his team’s inagural season.  I am not too crazy about the idea of going out to spend the evening with a bunch of people I don’t know. I am not too crazy about spending time listening to coaches. I am not too crazy about celebrating public school sports. But…I am crazy about my son and having a date with him tonight will make it all worth it!
