coach?

Due to a series of circumstances, it looked as if I was going to be sitting on the bench as the acting coach at my daughter’s volleyball game tonight. I know very, very little about the game. Luckily the girls know it much better! I was listening as certain players were helping me to better understand when players are substituted in and just when the libero can go in. Luckily for all, just as the game was to start, the assistant coach made it in!

drawing a blank

Yes, I do seem to learn something new almost every day. I always try to remind myself “use this for a blog post.” But today I am drawing a blank. I seem to have forgotten the things I wanted to blog about. I did go in the gym for a few minutes this afternoon with my daughter. She taught me some things about volleyball positions and setting. So I guess I did remember some things I learned today after all!

end of the season

Today was the last game of the season for my daughter’s volleyball team. She has played for the YMCA under a great coach and assistant coach. She has learned a lot and really improved. She can now even get her over hand serves over the net-most of the time! I just learned that three of her team mates had “played up”. This team was in the 10/11 year old age bracket and these three girls are nine! It is their first year to play and at the beginning of the season, almost no one could make an over hand serve except these three girls!
